Wear and tear expectations Many different theories abound as to the appropriateness of which style of blanket to use and when. Our experience suggests that there is no quick and easy answer. The best rule of thumb is to know your horse and to understand how they behave in their various environments. Some horses are extremely rough on their blankets while others can get years of use. NO BLANKET CAN BE MADE 100% HORSE PROOF We recommend that you gauge your horse's environment accordingly and buy the blanket that best suits those needs. Lighter weight sheets and blankets are best suited for indoor or attended use, whilst heavier denier blankets are more appropriate for outdoor or unattended use. Winter blanket yarn counts are measured in "denier" — essentially the higher the denier number the higher the thread weave thus the stronger the material. The denier count can be used to determine the suitability of material for unattended or outdoor usage. Summer sheets and other types of horse wear are made from a variety of different materials — again the best that you can do is to gauge the environment accordingly, and buy the sheet according to your budget and durability requirements. Please note an additional shipping charge of $4.50 will apply to each blanket ordered.

Wear and Tear Expectations
Given the nature and size of a horse, and their respective environments — blankets and sheets are not guaranteed against ripping or tearing. Buckles and straps may break under certain stress situations. Most tears or breaks are easily repaired at the local seamstress or cobbler.
Waterproof and Breathable
We utilize the newest & most advanced technologies in our waterproof & breathable blankets. Dupont Teflon Coating on the outside maximizes stain & water repellency and assists in wind resistance. A hydrophobic (waterproof and breathable) membrane bonded to the inside of the outer shell ensures maximum waterproofing and breathability. There are many levels of waterproof and breathable membranes used in the industry. We use the highest quality membrane available. This unique process allows water vapour (perspiration) to pass through the blanket while simultaneously repelling rain and external water.
Dupont Teflon Coating We suggest periodically inspecting your blanket and making repairs where necessary. "Scotchguard" water repellant spray is available to waterproof your repairs. To ensure effective breathability do not over blanket or overheat your horse. Excessive perspiration may not breathe off. Although the outer shell material is waterproof, no blanket can be made 100% waterproof, despite the manufacturer's claims. Although all major stitching seams are professionally taped on the inside for waterproofing, there are some areas of stitching that cannot be taped (the outer binding, areas of reinforcement on the lower surcingles and front straps, and the gusset binding). We have ensured these areas are all on the lower part of the blanket to help reduce this concern. Horses left outside in the severe weather conditions may experience wetness inside their blankets due to heavy rain or snow blowing in from the front or rear openings. As well, horses prone to rolling or rough play are also good candidates for this problem. Note: These characteristics apply only to waterproof and breathable blankets. Your blanket has been designed with 18 years of research to maximize waterproofing and breathability and to improve durability. Our waterproof and breathable blankets are the best on the market. Compare them to any other brand. We guarantee that you cannot buy a finer made blanket anywhere at any price. Washing Instructions
For best results hand wash and hang to dry. If washed in a machine, use luke warm water or cold water, and the gentlest washing cycle available. Avoid excessive washer or dryer heat. Always remove your leg straps before washing and ensure that any loose straps or surcingles on the blanket do not become caught in the washer or dryer. Again, for best results and to get the longest wear out of your blanket "hand wash and hang to dry."
For waterproof and breathable blankets, please note: Heat, dry cleaning, strong detergents or bleach may reduce or damage your blanket's waterproofing features. Warranty and Guarantee
